7:365 | Evaluation Sprint

Designers for Learning just completed a 5-week Evaluation Sprint, a crowdsourcing effort to evaluate 108 open educational resources (OER) created by volunteers in our prior service-MOOCs to support adult basic skills education programs. I’m always amazed by the support we receive from our network of volunteers and this project was no exception. In terms of numbers, we have about 5,500 people in our contact database, including faculty, (past and current) graduate students, instructional designers, educators, and others. Our Call for Volunteers to our network in late November resulted in a response from about 140 people who expressed interested in volunteering for this evaluation project. However, at the end of the day, life gets in the way, and 69 volunteers ended up completing a total of 205 reviews from late November through yesterday. We’ll be spending significant time culling through the reviews, deciding how to proceed with the gathered information, and sharing our findings at the 2019 AECT convention, but we’re thrilled with the level of participation from our amazing volunteers!
