Last week, the American Library Association (ALA) released the Libraries’ Guide to the 2020 Census. Released under a Creative Commons CC-By License, the guide is a joint effort by the Georgetown Center on Poverty and Inequality and the ALA. As noted in the release email, the guide contains information for library staff as they support patrons during the 2020 Census, including information about the Census process, highlights of new components in the 2020 Census (such as the online response option), and a timeline of key dates. Creating educational supports related to the 2020 Census is an excellent service-learning opportunity – for example, to support digital inclusion related to the online response option.
