I had the honor of facilitating a professional development session with the Chinese Mutual Aid Association (CMAA) today. I was once told that CMAA is the second largest adult education provider in Illinois behind the City Colleges of Chicago.
Billed as a Mobile Learning Design Slam, the following is the session description from the program:
In this hands-on design session, participants will consider a range of commonly available mobile device apps and other free online resources that instructors can use to support their instructional strategies. In a facilitated Design Slam, we’ll work together in a collaborative design process to create learning presentation and practice activities to facilitate learner engagement with each other, the instructor, and the content using these “off the shelf” apps and online resources.
It was enlightening to hear from these teachers about the opportunities and challenges of integrating technology and digital literacy skills into their classes. They are all doing amazing work!
