Today, I had the great fortune of being a panelist on an accessibility webinar as part of the LINCS Professional Development (PD) Center Collaborative Learning Group – Enriching Professional Development through Blended Learning. Jen Vanek, Director of Digital Learning and Research at the EdTech Center at World Education, is the facilitator of the LINCS group and hosted the panel that also included Glenda Rose – Program Manager for PD Needs Assessment and Evaluation at Texas Center for the Advancement of Literacy & Learning (TCALL) at Texas A&M University, and Katie Bratisax – Instructional Technology Specialist at Virginia Adult Learning Resource Center, Virginia Commonwealth University. I was clearly the accessibility “enthusiast” on a panel of experts!
As noted on the LINCS website, here is the description of the Enriching Professional Development through Blended Learning group:
State staff responsible for developing and delivering professional development are invited to join this multi-session, online peer group to explore the use of blended learning models (in-person and online delivery methods) and build their skills and confidence in the use of blended learning techniques for enhancing professional development. The CLG will employ a learn-and-do model and include five sessions. Participants will engage in discussion using online tools that will help support the expanded use of blended learning models in professional development delivery and teaching practices at the program level. Participants from the same states are encouraged to join as teams. The CLG will help develop the skills and confidence of state professional developers in the use of blended learning tools to help states meet WIOA Title II requirements for providing technology-rich quality adult learning opportunities.
Here’s a link to the webinar recording. Once again, I learned a lot today by knowing Jen Vanek 🙂
Thanks, Jennifer. Always learning from your work, too.
